Camera RAW Imagery: What I Expect

Considering I've never taken a photography class, I'm interested to see the challenges created by the work and projects.  Frankly, I don't have much of an interest in photography, or at least becoming a photographer.  However, I took this class knowing that Beth would definitely make it interesting.  After our first class, I found myself the most intrigued by the photo manipulation in Photoshop (the idea of extracting information from an otherwise useless image seemed interesting.  I consider this a good thing since I don't have a camera that can take pictures in RAW format, nor can I afford one at this time, so I can focus on the work in Photoshop.
